What check-in confirms (and what it doesn't promise)

When you check in on Movase, the server compares your location to the gym's at that exact moment and decides whether the distance fits the expected radius. If it fits — and if your location was updated recently enough — the check-in becomes "confirmed presence." It's worth spelling out exactly what that means, because the word "confirmed" carries weight.

What's measured

What's measured is the distance between your device's position and the gym's registered position, at the moment of check-in. Nothing more: no photo, no recognition, no third party vouching for you. If your GPS is stale (unmoved for more than a few minutes) or out of range, the check-in still gets recorded — just with a different reason, visible to you right away: no location, stale location, or out of range.

What this isn't

Presence by proximity isn't proof of identity, nor that you actually trained, nor of effort. It's exactly what the name says: you were physically near the gym when you tapped the button. That's why the product never calls it "proven" or "verified" — those words are stronger than what the measurement actually guarantees.

Why this beats self-reporting

Even being just proximity, it's more than most workout apps offer: usually whoever says they went to the gym is just taking their own word for it, with nothing checking. Here the distance is calculated server-side, not typed in by anyone — and every check-in gets an explicit reason, never a silence that reads like confirmation.
